Tesla Cybertruck After Its First Presentation
This is Tesla’s Cybertruck after its first presentation, with windows of cardboard instead of glass. Why? Because Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, tried to prove to the world that the windows were unbreakable—only to have them break. We feel bad for Elon Musk, but didn’t he try that “breaking glass” presentation ahead of time, just to make sure that the glass really was unbreakable? Or perhaps, on the spur of the moment, Elon told his assistant: “Bring the hammer, I am sure they are unbreakable.” We must emphasize that Tesla’s CEO is a genius. Everything he touches becomes a successful business; everything he does is an innovation—from PayPal to electric vehicles to space missions. We forgive Elon. How can we average people benefit from his example? Well, if smart guys like him make mistakes, we must be allowed to make them too. And this feels good. What’s important is that we learn from them.
